Bioresorbable Polymers in Medical Aesthetics

The proprietary technology platform of AQTIS Medical™ consists of unique combinations of bioresorbable polymer microspheres and gels. Our core competence is the modification and functionalization of bioresorbable polymers and gels in relation to desired safety and performance characteristics.

Bioresorbable medical polymers are very attractive because of their ease of bioresorption by hydrolysis of ester linkages and the non-toxic bioresorption products, which are resorbed through normal metabolic pathways and readily excreted. These polymers have been used in various commercial medical devices since the 60’s. Gel-components like e.g. Carboxymethylcellulose are well-known viscosity agents with unique elasticity and viscosity property characteristics. Different polymer and viscosity formulations can be tailored to meet required performance.

Our in-house manufacturing process produces soft smooth spherical microparticles which are specifically designed for the intended use. The STAT Technology™ platform has driven the development of our first product range, the Ellansé™ Family.
